Eddie Daniels, the virtuoso clarinetist who has been called "a thoroughly well-bred demon" by Leonard Bernstein, will open the 139th season of the Artist Recital Series at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï with an 8 p.m. program Saturday, September 17, in Finney Chapel.

A master in the worlds of classical and jazz, Daniels brings to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï a lineup of jazz pals—Darek Oles on bass, Alan Pasqua on piano, and Joe La Barbera on drums—and a passel of standards and original compositions that will be announced from the stage. Tickets to Eddie Daniels are $35 ($30 for seniors, military personnel, and ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï faculty, staff, and alumni; and just $10 for students). Full subscriptions to the 2016-17 Artist Recital Series are available for as low as $150, with student subscriptions only $50.

An ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï tradition since 1878, the Artist Recital Series brings to historic Finney Chapel the world’s most talented performers across a spectrum of musical styles. The series at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï continues September 30 with a visit by the Zukerman Trio, featuring celebrated violinist Pinchas Zukerman and ÍøÆسԹÏ’s own Professor of Piano Angela Cheng. The trio will perform works by Glière, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
