This Week in Photos: In Celebration of Returning Black Alumni

Author Ishmael Beah ’04 returned to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï College in 2010 to discuss the publication of his New York Times best-selling book, A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier. Four years later Beah’s visit to Finney Chapel took place after the publication of Radiance of Tomorrow, A Novel, which would go on to become another best-seller. Beah’s visits to campus serve as inspiration for this week’s photo series.

This photo series is dedicated to the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï experience we celebrate throughout the year. In this week’s collection, we showcase events that took place earlier this month: a Tiny Ref Desk Concert that featured the battle cries of women suffrage workers; melodies of the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Baroque Orchestra in Kulas Recital Hall; art used as a means of support in the Allen Memorial Art Museum; and the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams end the season matchups.
