Dr. Regina Benjamin Kicks Off Spring Convocation Series

The 2014-2015 Convocation Series continues Wednesday, February 25, with An Evening with Dr. Regina Benjamin. Benjamin was appointed the 18th U.S. Surgeon General in 2009.
During her tenure, she worked to shift the nations focus from sickness to wellness and prevention. She is thefirst NOLA.com/Times Picayune Endowed Chair in Public Health Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana. The MacArthur Foundation, Pope Benedict XVI, and the NAACP, among others, have recognized Benjamin for her dedication to preventative care.
The begins at 7:30 p.m. in Finney Chapel. It is free and open to the public. No ticket required.

Convocation Speaker Touches on the Future of Journalism
Tom Rosenstiel 78 is one of the countrys most recognized thinkers on the intersection of media and politics and the future of journalism. He recently discussed President Donald Trumps relationship with the media, the meaning of objectivity, and why and how we all may perceive facts.
