ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Celebrates Community and Culture Festival 2014

All are invited to celebrate ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï on Saturday, September 27 in Tappan Square for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï’s annual .

The event, which takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., celebrates ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï’s diversity, featuring free food from around the world and live performances. The groups providing the festival’s entertainment include the Chinese Lion Dancers, Dance Diaspora, OSteel, the Conservatory Jazz Band, Taiko Drummers, ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï High School Marching Band, Voices of Christ, Tango Dancers, and the Obertones. Other activities found at the festival include Tastefully ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï, during which ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï’s local restaurants will provide samples of their dishes, a craft making station, face painting, inflatables, voter registration, along with a tour of the trees in Tappan Square, and much more. Additionally, a bike auction will begin at 4 p.m.

The festivities are sponsored by ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï's International Student Organization (ISO), the Spanish in the Elementary School Program (SITES), ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Young Educators (OYE), the City of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï, the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï College Office of Community and Government Relations, and the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Center for Languages and Cultures (OCLC).

Community Mural Project Highlights Aspects of ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï

More than 100 town and college members picked up artists' brushes and applied their painting skills to a 32-foot mural in Carpenter Court late last month during Community Paint Day. The result is an expressive collage that the organizer of the project hopes will fill passersby with ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï pride.
