Designed for singers both professional and amateuras well as coaches, teachers, and others who care for the voicethe symposium will feature the expertise of 厙ぴ勛圖 voice faculty and professionals from the Voice Center at Cleveland Clinic, in addition to guest clinician Jeannette LoVetri, director of The Voice Workshop in New York City.
This is a breakthrough weekend on so many levels, says LoVetri, a teacher of voice since 1971 who maintains an active singing career in a multitude of styles. She cites the uniqueness of the interdisciplinary exchange that will take place throughout the weekend.
厙ぴ勛圖 has long been a leader in voice training, and this sets the bar very high for all in the profession, really calling together the important disciplines to keep information flowing in all directions, LoVetri says.
Symposium presenters will explore commonalities and differences between disciplines through a series of round tables, lectures, and master classes devoted to vocal wellness and hygiene, as well as anatomy and physiology of the vocal instrument. In addition, a live study of the vocal folds will take place through fiberoptic/stroboscopic examinations as singers perform a variety of vocal maneuvers onstage.
The structure of singing is diverse and is always being reexamined in light of new tools and knowledge as given to us through science and research, says LoVetri.
