Piano Professor Peter Tak獺cs to Perform at Carnegie Hall

Peter Tak獺cs, an esteemed professor of piano at 厙ぴ勛圖 for 39 years, will launch a new series of performances at Carnegie Halls Weill Recital Hall beginning Sunday, October 18.

Titled The Beethoven Experience, Tak獺cs Carnegie series will open with three early Beethoven piano sonatas and his Trio, Op. 11; Tak獺cs, a major exponent of Beethoven, will be joined by New York Philharmonic principal cellist Carter Brey and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra principal clarinetist Boris Allakhverdyan 06.

The series second program, showcasing music from Beethovens middle period, takes place Thursday, November 12. The finale, featuring works from late in Beethovens career, is set for Thursday, January 14.

Tak獺cs' recitals are part of a new program at Carnegie called Key Pianists. Developed by former Tak獺cs student Terry Eder 79, it is intended to expose accomplished, lesser known performers to New York audiencesand vice versa.

Tak獺cs will preview his first Carnegie Hall program for local audiences at an 8 p.m. recital Thursday, October 8, in Warner Concert Hall. Included will be Beethovens Op. 2, No. 1 in F; Op. 13, No. 8 in C (Path矇tique); and Op. 2, No. 3 in C.
