I don’t believe any other liberal arts college in this country had such an amazing gathering of academic, intellectual, artistic, musical, and spiritual brilliance at their graduation ceremonies.

“Since I’m a writer,” Tracy Chevalier ’84 told the members of the Class of 2013 in her Commencement address, “I’m going to give you advice in the form of five mantras about writing that I repeat to myself and that you can apply to the novel that is your life.”
