James McBride’s March 5 Convocation was magical, thought-provoking, and uplifting. From start to finish, it was an astonishing, free-flowing blend of music, literature, history, religion, and warm, personal reminiscence.

ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Opera Theater honors Britten’s centennial anniversary with four performances of Albert Herring March 12 through 16. It’s a great intro to opera—and a great deal on tickets, too.

This Wednesday, student volunteers are registering potential bone marrow donors in the Science Center.

The President’s Public Service Fellowship will provide funding for ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï College students to work full-time during the summer with an ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï community partner on an intensive service project. The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. on Friday, March 14.

The teaching, discussions, and actions sparked by last year’s Day of Solidarity continue. We see that in the educational and reflective community building efforts this week, which were created and led by our students. I extend my thanks to all who worked on those projects.
