Jonathon Field calls The Marriage of Figaro “the world’s most perfect opera,” which explains why he has directed Mozart’s comedic classic more times than he can count. ���سԹ� Opera Theater will present the Italian opera in four performances beginning Wednesday, November 1.

Decorated violinist Tessa Lark, winner of the 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant, will present a recital with pianist Andrew Armstrong in ���سԹ�’s Finney Chapel Sunday, November 19.

The 4 p.m. concert

The William and Helen Birenbaum Innovation and Performance Space will come alive each month with an evening of music selected by a campus personality. The first ConFab Listening Party at the Birenbaum will feature Jamey Haddad, professor of advanced improvisation and percussion.

The Cleveland Orchestra turns 100 this season, and ���سԹ� College will host one of the beloved ensemble’s first anniversary celebrations. The performance marks the return to ���سԹ� of Music Director Franz Welser-Möst since the 2011-12 season.

���سԹ� Conservatory faculty member Jamey Haddad and his longtime musician friend Billy Drewes release their first recording together with ���سԹ� Music Label.

���سԹ� Conservatory students, alumni, and faculty will join with musicians of The Cleveland Orchestra and students from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Credo Music for "Help After Harvey: A Benefit Concert for the American Red Cross."

Robert Spano '84 will talk about the "State of the Art" in a discussion moderated by Conservatory Dean Andrea Kalyn.

The first Faculty Chamber Series performance of the 2017-18 season includes the world premiere of a piece by pianist and composer André Previn called "Montfort." The concert will be streamed live.
